Almost thirty years' experience in business litigation, debtor-creditor and bankruptcy matters, both in very large cases and in cases of a smaller dollar amount but of equal importance to the parties involved. Litigation matter experience includes a wide range of business disputes, such as: ownership contests; veil piercing, alter ego and other challenges to corporations and other limited liability entities; partnership and joint venture disputes; noncompetition agreements; finance leases; real estate leases; real estate matters and foreclosure defense; commercial landlord-tenant matters; licensing issues; unfair and deceptive trade practices; mediation; arbitration; trust issues; validity and scope of liens; attachments, injunctions and other prejudgment relief; appeals; etc. Debtor-creditor matters include representation of debtors and creditors, and secured and unsecured parties, and asset protection questions. Bankruptcy and business reorganization experience has tended to be in disputed matters. This office generally does not represent debtors in Chapter 13 cases. We have no policy against bringing suit against lenders, and have considerable experience in bank and financial institution litigation.

Bankruptcy work -- and related state law options such as an assignment for the benefit of creditors -- have been properly called the last domain of the generalist. As a specialty, it calls for attention to more common matters such as promissory notes, guarantees, exemptions, fraudulent transfer law, and bankruptcy avoidance actions. Yet this specialty subsumes all areas of economic activity, from aviation through oil and gas law. Experience in reorganization cases has included debtor representation in individual (personal) cases, and representation of businesses in a wide range of cases from hotels to seafood companies. Extensive experience in the representation of secured and unsecured creditors ranges from defense of payment avoidance actions and assertion of Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act priority rights of cranberry growers in Massachusetts to defending claim objections in Delaware or other forums. Our practice involves the vigorous and practical assertion of client rights.
